I have sudden panic episodes with fast heartbeat, chest tightness, and fear of dying. Tests were normal before, but I still worry repeated attacks will damage my heart. Episodes happen during stress and sometimes without warning. Can panic itself injure the heart over time?

Panic attacks feel intense but they do not usually damage a healthy heart by themselves. The bigger issue is quality of life and avoidance behavior, which can become severe if untreated. A treatment plan with psychoeducation, breathing retraining, and therapy reduces both attack frequency and fear of symptoms.
