Headache with high BP at night. Emergency?

Twice this week I had headache at night and checked blood pressure around 160/100. After resting it came down, but I am worried this could become dangerous suddenly. I am not on regular BP medicine yet. When should I go to emergency and when can I wait for clinic follow-up?

Repeated readings around 160/100 need prompt clinic follow-up within days, not weeks. Go to emergency immediately if high BP is accompanied by severe chest pain, weakness, confusion, severe breathlessness, or vision loss. Keep a home BP log twice daily and share it with your doctor to guide treatment decisions.
