I get chest burning mostly after spicy dinners and late-night tea. It improves when I sit up and feels worse when I lie down. There is no pain with walking, but I still worry because it is in the chest area. How can I tell if this is acidity or a heart issue?

Your pattern is more suggestive of reflux than heart pain because it is meal-related and positional. Try smaller meals, avoid lying down after food, and reduce trigger foods like spicy meals, tea, and caffeine. If pain starts with exertion, spreads to arm or jaw, or comes with sweating and breathlessness, seek urgent cardiac evaluation.
